When will the walnut saplings are planted

Open Root Walnut Nursery Planting Time
The open-rooted walnut seedlings must be in winter resting to be able to be transported to the planting area. The precisely determined seedlings that have passed the rest of winter can be removed from the production area. The sown seedlings should either be shipped to the planting site as soon as possible or stored in controlled reservoirs so that the roots covered by the stream sand.
 In Bandirma region, where we grow our seedlings, the time of dismantling seedlings, starts in the middle of November and lasts until April.
Our company dismantles the seedlings in line with the customer demands between the months of  November and April
Based on this information, open seedling planting in our country is carried out between the period of November and April.
Open-rooted planting times according to weather conditions;
1. If the winters are warm and dry and hot in summers;
Open rooted seedlings can be planted from November to April. The root development of the seedlings is faster especially in the plantings to be made before winter.
2. If the winters and summers are normal;
Areas with such climate features can be planted with open roots in November-December and February-April. Since the winter conditions can be severe in January and mid of February planting is not recommended during this time.
3. If the winters are hard and summers are normal;
Planting is not recommended before winter and in winter. With the arrival of spring, open-rooted seedlings can be planted in March-April.
Tubular (Potholder) Walnut Nursery Planting Time
 Walnut and almond seedlings produced by tubing can be planted in every season of the year.
The roots are in the soil permanently, and the landing of the referral processes removes the seasonal restriction on planting seedlings.
However, the climatic conditions of the region where we are planting also limits the planting of tubular seedlings (of course not too much comparing the open-rooted planting)
1. If the winters are warm and dry and hot in summers.
In these areas, we especially recommend autumn, winter and spring months when rainfall is taken. If there is no irrigation problem in your planting area, planting can be done in summer.
2. If the winters and summers are normal;
Tubular planting can be done in all months.
3. If the winters are hard and summers are normal;
Planting seedlings is strictly prohibited during winter months. The ideal months for planting are April, May and June. It will be very beneficial for the planted seedlings to enter into the winter months with strong strength.
Walnut and almond seedlings can be planted with bare root and tubular. Bare rooted seedlings should be planted between November and April. Tubed seedlings can be planted at any time of year.
When planting bare rooted seedlings, we should pay attention not to turn the roots. Root should not be shallow or deeply planted so that the air space remains in the soil. The saplings are broken by cutting 2-3 cm under the root of the pile with crushed and capillary capillary roots.
Tubed and covered seedlings should be planted after they are absolutely removed from nylon and containers. During the planting, the soil mass in which the root system is located should be planted before it is distributed.
* In both cultivars; it should be placed in the pits of suitable dimensions to be opened according to the root structure, age and height, the soil should be compressed and life water should be given.
* Seedlings should not be planted on the days when frost is expected.
* 4-5 days after planting, the seedlings should be re-plucked against the soil cracking.
* It should be attached to a pile to prevent the large seedlings from shaking with the wind.
Sapling planting process;
First, open a 50-60 cm wide pit with an anchor, waist or bucket and a depth of 100 cm to 150 cm, depending on the structure of your soil. Distribute the soil that emerges from the pit to the surface and do not use it during planting.
In order to be used during planting, 1/3 of the surface soil, 1/3 of the burnt cattle farm grape and 1/3 of the stream sand is prepared. According to the soil analysis we make, the chemical fertilizer is available at the bottom (400-500gr) and at the top (200-300gr) per plantation (600-800gr).
- According to the analysis of the soil we have done, 400-500 grs of chemical fertilizer should be applied.
- At the above ratios, the mixture of surface soil, stream sand and organic fertilizer is placed in a pit up to 40 cm thick from the top.
- Set the sapling stake in an appropriate direction to protect the sapling from active winds.
- The injured and grafted part of the seedlings will look south and sit in a seedling pit so that it is 6-8 cm above the ground.
- The seedlings are pressed around the roots in such a way that they do not break the roots with the foot and at the same time prevent the roots from getting air.
- Apply 200-300 gr of chemical to surface soil and cover it lightly with hoe.
- Attache the sapling to stake with a bond that will not irritate the body.
- Complate the planting by giving life water.
